NCBA Member Receives MBE

We are delighted to announce that the Queen’s Birthday Honours List published on Saturday included Mrs Norma Hornby from the Canal Boat Adventure Project in Cheshire. Mrs Hornby, Chairman of the project and vice-Chair of Governors, was awarded the MBE for services to children and young people.

“The Canal boat Adventure Project, set up in 1976, operates three residential canal boats for youth groups, services for young people and schools. The project is based in Runcorn, a deprived area in the North West. This project also operates in partnership with local young people a canal boat-based social project for young people from the most deprived wards in Halton and for young victims of crime and domestic violence, where young people are encouraged to identify barriers to achievement in their lives and to develop the skills and confidence to address these.”
